12th Jan 2010 - Ice Gull & thaw

Thaw

2 young Mutes

on a positive note, nice to see one of the local Barn Owls tucked up out of the wind in his quarry roost - looks like this thaw has commenced just in time . . . (for lowland birds at least )
although looking across yon side of Durham ( Sacriston / Pit House & beyond ) all still very white . . .

Only time will tell.
