Two fusts

Two 1st's today.

First known succesful breeding by Dipper within the Houghton area.

the other not quite so impressive . . .

quite a barrel-scraper actually . . .

every one counts & on way back from an errand in Sunderland, i eventually managed to scope down from Pensha & tick off Avocet, !!! wading about & flying up WWWT's Wader Lake !!!
(heres hoping for a MUCH closer view over the coming moths . . .!)

If my feet are within the patch, then its a patch tick.
Its on my list to stay no matter what.

Lambton Bridge: 20mins late afternoon.
Singles of Pink footed Goose (on the river !!), Common Sandpiper, Kingfisher, Dipper (young still in nest), Cormorant, LBBGull. Also 2Heron, 2Swift, 26House Martin, Mallard with brood of 6.

Spuggys Flash:
1LRP, pairs of Redshank, Pied Wagtail, Coot, Moorhen, Mallard, Shelduck, Greylag Goose, Tree Sparrow. 12Swallow, 6Swift.

Houghton Gate:
Mistle Thrush family, pr Redshank, 1Curlew, 10Shelduck, 1Bull, 1Farmers Wife walking round waters edge . . .
- wonder if she keeps a list of flushed waders ?
