Chester Moor

a couple of hours at an old stomping ground, looking for passage Nightjar produced 53 species including

fem Greenland Wheatear, 2Siskin, 2Buzzard, 1m Lesser Whitethroat, 20+mWhitethroat, 2mSedge Warbler, 5+mGarden Warbler, 12mYellowhammer, 8mReed Bunting, several family parties of Long tailed Tits.

very disapointing to find no heathland specialities

but in the current climate, i suppose every year brings us that little bit closer to Woodlark

Fat chance not even any Cuckoo, Stonechat nor Tree Pipit today.

Whinchat is long gone,
Even the formerly numerous Lesser Redpoll & to a lesser degree breeding Redstart, all now evaporated . . .
