some Little Owls

Back at a few of my old haunts
Lots of Little Owls about
I peered over a ledge & managed to get a nice image of this one - i dont know who got the biggest surprise !

The next one was also on a Limestone rock face:-
This one was curious as i was semi-concealed, but he seemed more interested in  the small birds flitting around him.

Little Owls seen / heard this past week at Pittington, Moorsley, Littletown, Broomside, Haswell, Shotton, Daisy Hill, Chilton Moor.

NB: first Owl hasnt got special properties... but its image seems to have !

altered the rotation of the 1st image as it was the "wrong way round" when it came off the iPhone, & its saved the right way round - cant work it out ?

Some smashing images Stevie, just love the rocky environment they seem to be living in.

You had me guessing with that first image Stevie!! I agree with Paul - superb setting for these birds. I would love to find a LO habitat like that round here.

Cheers guys.
We have Limestone cliffs on the coast, but these shots are from disused quarries.
The best one I know is that which Christian mentions , 4 pr of LO in there along with the Barnies.
Cheers.
