 Watched these marvelous creatures at 3 NE locations during 2011, although the year ended, as we can see on a rather damp note.....

Looking forward to spending more time in their company in 2012.

Never had the pleasure of seeing a Nightjar, but did see some Nighthawks in the states, similar I suppose?

quite similar i think Paul - have seen several images of N'hawks sitting openly.

Ive come across 3 Nightjars on passage over the years...Who knows what we might bump into....

Like Paul, (and many other birders, I suspect!) I've never seen a Nightjar either, and would love to. So sad to see the failure of the nest. Keep up the good work!
